Vice President Americas, Systems Division
Alain Aumais is Vice President, Americas Region of the Systems division at Bombardier Transportation, appointed on January 1, 2013 and located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Mr. Aumais is responsible for the turnkey supply of rail transportation systems for the Americas market, which includes Canada, United States, Mexico, Central America and South America. Prior to this, he was General Manager of the Plattsburgh facility for Bombardier Transportation from December 2008, where he was responsible for overseeing all production, technical services, procurements and management activities for the site. Mr. Aumais joined the Bombardier team in 1993 and Bombardier Transportation more specifically, in December 1997. He held different positions as General Manager, Director of Production and Director of Project (New-Jersey Transit and Chicago Transit Authority projects). These responsibilities were held in USA, Canada and Europe. Prior to joining Bombardier Transportation, Mr. Aumais also worked with Bombardier Recreational Products (now known as BRP) as Director of Manufacturing. Previously, Mr. Aumais had held several different positions with Railpower Technology (Vice-President of Manufacturing), Pratt and Whitney (Business Unit Leader) and General Motors (Operation Manager). Alain Aumais holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from École Polytechnique, University of Montréal. He is also a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec and member of the Board of Directors of Leucan, an association whose mission is to help cancer-stricken children and their families believe in a brighter future.
